Buying Nursery Toys from Amazon

Amazon is the No.1 online retailer in the UK and while Amazon is most associated with books and CDs, they have a very good nursery toy section.

As well as having a very good search facility, the site allows you to can find toys by age, type, brand or character.

Ordering from Amazon: Shipping and Delivery Times/Postage and Packaging Costs

Orders that are over £15 on Amazon can be sent for free in the UK if you select the Super Saver Delivery, which is usually 2 – 5 working days later than first class delivery.

You will also need to ask for your toys to be grouped together for delivery as much as possible. If you ask for items to be dispatched as and when they are ready and some of your items have different availability dates (which are shown against each item on Amazon) then you may also incur a delivery charge.

If you want items sent first class then you will need to proceed to checkout and enter your details to find out how much the delivery cost will be.

If you want items sent by Super Saver Delivery but sent as they become available, then a good tip to avoid delivery costs is to place your order in batches of more than £15 so that you still qualify for the free delivery.

When you go to the Amazon checkout, then you will be able to change your delivery preferences to see what the delivery cost will be and also find an indication of when you should receive your order from Amazon.

If you use the Amazon 1-click ordering service then after you have placed your order you will need to log into “Your Account” and change the delivery requirements on your order to get free delivery for orders over £15.

The free delivery offer does not apply to e-Books, gift certificates, some large electrical items and products purchased from Amazon Jersey and other Amazon sites outside the UK, Marketplace, Auctions and zShop.

Ordering from Amazon: Refunds and Returns Policy

Amazon has a Returns Support Centre which will guide you through their returns process online whether you bought the item for yourself or received it as a gift.

Amazon operates a 30 day returns guarantee so if you are unhappy with the item within 30 days then you will get a full refund as long as it is returned in its original condition and unopened.

If the item is faulty or damaged then you can return the item within 30 days to receive a replacement from Amazon, by the following the instructions in the Returns Support Centre section of the Amazon website.

Ordering from Amazon: Other Points

Amazon also offers a gift wrapping service, which is useful for when sending birthday or Christmas presents to friends and family. This option is available at the Amazon checkout and the charge depends on the size of the item.
