How to Choose and Buy Baby Toys – 1 - 3 months

Baby is beginning to recognise more about their world and is interested in seeing toys that dangle or act in unpredictable ways. Early Learning Centre produces a lovely cushioned playmat from Blossom Farm that provides baby with funny creatures to observe as they lie on the play mat.

Baby may also be beginning to lift his head so will be looking at the world in a very different way to the newborn.

Skill Development Toys

Baby may start to reach out to touch things near him so placing toys within reach will encourage the development of his motor skills and his hand to eye coordination. Square blocks that are soft and colourful like ones from Baby Einstein, Galt or Lamaze will help baby discover more about texture, colour and shapes.

Car and Cot Toys

Make sure you have dangly toys on his car seat and his pushchair or buggy.

Whoozit produce fun on the move mobiles. Although baby's cot is for sleeping, soft, calming musical mobiles will become interesting as he starts to see the dangly creatures more clearly. And make sure you leave interesting safe soft toys within reach as he'll bring them to his mouth to investigate.
