Taggies Baby Toys

The idea for Taggies was born when a mummy realised that her child was often more interested in the small satin tags found on clothes and toys, than in the clothes or toy itself. She thought about this for a while, then developed her idea into a deliciously soft security blanket which had lots of colourful and textured tags attached around the edges. She had created the first taggie.

Following interest from other children and parents, Taggies Inc was launched and it now makes a wide range of products based on the simple concept of the small satin tags.

Babies love taggies as they feel so soft. You can leave a taggie next to baby and they will reach out to bring it close to them to cuddle. Because babies love discovering texture, taggies offer a safe solution to parents who want to give younger babies something to explore.

Older children have been known to take their crib blankets with them on long car journeys and even to the school sports field to watch a brother or sister compete.

Younger children have been known to take their taggies with them if they have to go to the doctors or to toddler groups or nursery.

Taggies can become particularly important to babies so do not underestimate the power of the taggie.

A large crib taggie can be spread out on the floor for special tummy time to encourage a younger baby to crawl.

Discussions around crawling have been quite interesting in that not all babies crawl. Child development specialists are beginning to think there is a connection between the successful government campaign to lie babies on their backs in their cots at night and the fact that some babies are missing out the crawling stage. Specialists believe that mummy and daddy are unsure about whether they should ever put baby onto her front.

Babies who are given supervised tummy time will be encouraged to lift their heads and push up using their forearms – in time this action leads to babies rocking on all fours and eventually crawling. Advice specialists are giving is to speak to a health visitor or a doctor if you are concerned or confused over tummy time.
