History of Fisher Price Toys

Fisher Price is owned by Mattel following a merger with the company in 1993. Fisher Price was originally founded in 1930 and became well known for its infant and pre-school toys. It also designs and produces strollers, high chairs, baby bouncers and baby monitors.

Mattel was born in the 1940s in California, USA. In 1955 Mattel started to market its toys through the Mickey Mouse Club, something that had never been done before and this innovation really has changed the way toys are now marketed across the world.

Fisher Price Philosophy

Fisher Price bases its toy philosophy around the developing child and caters for key developmental stages in the designs of its toys. Fisher Price has a number of related brands: Little People; Peek a Blocks, Baby Gear, Imaginext, Disney Princess, Powertouch and Laugh and Learn.
